Who is Robbeduz?

After working as dancer since 2016 and as maker for the past seven years, Nimanong recently created their persona: Robbeduz. A queer dance artist and maker who explores queerness through celebration, critical thinking, and decolonial approaches. Their journey as artist full of obstacles, inspired Robbeduz to become more aware of how they could step into health, dialogue and artistic expression as deep interdisciplinary collaborations.

As of today, Nimanong creates spaces with freedom for experimentation, introspective, expressive, meditative and body positive. Embracing ancestral energies, while future forward thinking. Projects are sharing a clear focus on non-binary approaches reshaping western language and practicing decolonial dialogue. By rediscovering their Thai background, their main focus of their research for the upcoming years is: The (South & Southeast) Asian diasporic lived experience through the lens of decolonization and queer ecology. Specifically important in the Netherlands, because of the colonial history, but also because of the under representation of Asian narratives worldwide.

Robbeduz creates a clear framework for interdisciplinary collaborations, where the body and interconnections of other mediums and space are deeply researched. The process has become increasingly more important than thework itself. Though the visual aspect, the sense of fashion and as well how the end-result relates to the audience is never forgotten. What kind of conversations does this research or performance initiate? Is a question constantly asked. Nimanong works like an artist that introduces other artists to queer theory and decolonial perspectives, and finds strength in like-minded community. Clear references like texts as ‘Cyborg Manifesto,’ documentaries, degrowth philosophies, or queer magazines, all insert direction and language within the research projects. This brings different mediums together into one world. This is the base of collaboration within Robbeduz projects. When the artistic team starts the collaboration, the urge from the artist becomes secondary for a moment, but the urge of the project is like a shared instinct amongst the different artists. The direction of where the creation is going to is led by the necessities discovered through dialogue.

At first ‘The body as an instrument’ will be discovered, and after that ‘The body as an organism.’
Transferring the energy from analytic towards instinctive, and trying to combine this animalistic energy with awareness. On top of that we play with queer energy, confidence and sculptural awareness within the space.

Anno 2026 Nimanong also used their Bimbo research, to create contemporary dance classes with an influence of Ballroom-culture, gender research and commercial dance.

Nourished by Gaga by Ohad Naharin, Tai-Chi, Chi-Gong, Marina Abramovic method, and other diverse experiences as dancer - towards new ways to discover the body, qualities and presence.

Nimanong works with organizations like DOX Utrecht and diverse Theaters in the Netherlands. Next to that, every project is an interdisciplinary collaboration. Currently Nimanong works deeply together with Valentina Gal for Children of Zeus.
